JournoFinder
Journalist database with an AI list-building agent, live article search and UK regional coverage, a first look
Featured in: Best AI tools for media relations and PR in 2026
JournoFinder is a journalist database with an AI agent that builds media lists and checks each journalist for beat, reach and fit. Alongside the database it offers live news and article search, journalist lookup from a list of article links, outlet search, alerts for journalist requests and reactive opportunities, and outreach sent from your own mailbox. It also connects to Claude and ChatGPT. Its examples are noticeably UK-aware, covering national, Scottish and regional titles, and its reactive alerts cover the UK and US. For journalists not already in the database it builds profiles on the fly with AI, which is useful for reach but needs checking. This is a first look: we have not yet tested its list quality ourselves.
For comms teams: small in-house teams doing their own media relations on a modest budget.
Best for
- • Small in-house teams doing their own media relations on a modest budget
- • UK practitioners who need regional and Scottish titles as well as nationals
- • Freelancers and consultancies building lists for several clients
Pricing

What works well
- + Visible UK and regional coverage in its own examples
- + Published prices well below the enterprise databases
- + Free plan for journalist-request alerts
- + AI list-building tied to recent articles rather than static beats
Watch out for
- - Not yet tested by Comms With AI; a hands-on review will follow
- - Very few independent reviews so far
- - Profiles generated on the fly need checking before you pitch
- - Trial hides contact details, and the vendor offers no refunds
When to choose this
Consider JournoFinder if you need an affordable media database with UK regional reach and want the AI to do the first pass at a list. Treat this as a first look rather than a tested recommendation until our hands-on review.
Who should look elsewhere
If you need verified, researcher-maintained contacts for high-stakes outreach, Roxhill Media, Muck Rack or Cision are the more established choices. If you only want journalist requests, the free plan may be all you need.
