Mention
Real-time brand and competitor monitoring, now sold as a single mid-market plan
Mention provides real-time monitoring across social media, news sites, blogs and forums, with instant alerts when your brand, competitors or keywords come up, plus collaboration features for team response. What has changed is who it is for. Mention was for years the affordable entry point into monitoring; it is now owned by Agorapulse, sold as one Company plan from $599 a month, and its publishing and responding features were removed in January 2026 and folded into Agorapulse. The product is still capable and still simpler than the enterprise platforms, but it is no longer the cheap option and should not be recommended as one.
For comms teams: small teams needing affordable real-time monitoring.
Best for
- • Small teams needing affordable real-time monitoring
- • Social media managers tracking conversations
- • Startups building brand awareness
Pricing
One plan only: Company, from $599/month on an annual contract (5 alerts, 50,000 mentions/month, unlimited users). Historical data and API are paid add-ons.
Verified September 2026. Mention is now Mention by Agorapulse. The legacy Solo ($41), Pro, Pro Plus and Company Lite tiers were withdrawn to new customers in 2025, and Publish and Respond features were removed in January 2026. The entry price is roughly fourteen times what this directory previously held, Mention is no longer a low-cost option.

What works well
- + Affordable pricing
- + User-friendly interface
- + Real-time alerts
- + Good social coverage
Watch out for
- - No longer an entry-level option, a single plan from $599/month on an annual contract
- - Publishing and responding features removed in January 2026; you are pushed to Agorapulse for those
- - Limited analytical depth against enterprise platforms
- - Can pull irrelevant mentions
- - Short data retention; historical data is a paid add-on
When to choose this
Choose Mention when you need real-time online monitoring at an accessible price point with straightforward setup for digital and social channels.
Who should look elsewhere
If you came looking for cheap monitoring, this is no longer it. Brand24 starts lower, and for a small team or a freelancer the free and low-cost social listening tools will go further per pound. If you need broadcast or print monitoring, deep historical data, or a journalist database alongside monitoring, Meltwater or Muck Rack are the right conversation. And if you want publishing and responding in the same place, you are being pointed at Agorapulse anyway, so start there.
Key features
